Prevention Message

Since becoming HIV positive, Thomas has dedicated himself to increasing awareness around the issue of HIV disclosure and prevention, with a particular focus on the need for honesty, responsibility, accountability, and mutual respect in sexual relationships. Youth and the elderly are audiences both very dear to Thomas’ heart, and crucial in the fight against HIV transmission. Thomas plans to continue to bring his story and messages about HIV prevention, to these as well as many other groups.
Thomas has begun his mission by telling his story in the media which includes feature articles in People magazine, The Advocate, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News, the Associated Press, and other print and broadcast news outlets. He has also met with public policy and legislative decision-makers, including members of the White House’s Office of National AIDS Policy, the Director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of HIV/AIDS Policy, and Members of the U.S. Congress.
